Meet the Composer
Giacomo Puccini
Giacomo Puccini was an Italian opera composer who started the operatic trend toward realism with popular works such as La Bohème and Madame Butterfly. He has been called “the greatest composer of Italian opera after Verdi.”
"Inspiration is an awakening, a quickening of all man's faculties, and it is manifested in all high artistic achievements."
The creation of this production was made possible in part by the generous donation of Lead Sponsors Sheila and Christopher Cole.
