Ticket Insurance
Cincinnati Opera’s ticket insurance provides for free ticket exchanges and, under specific conditions, full ticket refunds in the event the ticket holder is unable to attend an eligible performance.
Exchange Policy
Insured tickets may be exchanged an unlimited number of times within the current season, up to 24 hours prior to the performance, subject to seat availability and performance inventory.
The standard exchange fee of five dollars ($5) per ticket is waived for all insured tickets.
If the newly selected ticket is priced higher than the originally purchased ticket, the ticket holder is responsible for paying the difference in price at the time of exchange.
If the newly selected ticket is priced lower than the originally purchased ticket, the difference in price will not be refunded, credited, or applied toward any future purchases.
Refund Policy
Refunds for insured tickets are subject to the following conditions:
Refunds are only available for tickets that have not been scanned for entry.
Full refunds, less any applicable ticketing fees and the non-refundable cost of insurance, will be issued to the original payment method if requested up to seven (7) days prior to the scheduled performance date.
Refunds requested within seven (7) days of the scheduled performance date will be issued in the form of a gift certificate, less any applicable ticketing fees and the non-refundable cost of insurance.
Refunds will be issued the Monday following the performance date.
No refunds, in any form, will be granted after the scheduled performance date has passed.
Refund requests must be initiated by contacting the Cincinnati Opera box office at 513-241-2742 during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
Eligibility and Purchase Conditions
Ticket insurance is available exclusively for ticket purchases for individual performances and is not applicable to subscription packages, subscriber add-on purchases, or group orders.
Ticket insurance may be applied to a maximum of eight (8) tickets per performance.
Insurance must be purchased concurrently with the ticket transaction; it cannot be retroactively applied to previously purchased tickets.
Insurance coverage applies solely to the ticket or tickets purchased with insurance fee(s) applied. It is not applicable to any other tickets or items within the same ticket order that do not also include the insurance fee, nor does it apply to tickets in any other order.
Insurance coverage is valid only for the current season and does not carry over to subsequent seasons.
Insurance is non-transferable and applies only to the originally purchased ticket(s).
