Virtual Opera Chat: The Met's 1982 La Bohème

Our next Virtual Opera Chat is a throwback to the The Metropolitan Opera’s sensational 1982 Franco Zeffirelli production of La Bohème. The performance will stream on demand for free on Sunday, July 19, or can be rented at any time for $3.99.

Puccini’s opera of young love is one of the iconic classics in the history of the Met. Many great singers have appeared in it over the years, but there is something especially endearing about this magical first cast: the touching and fragile Teresa Stratas as Mimì, and José Carreras as her lover Rodolfo.

Cincinnati Opera’s Evans Mirageas will be joined by special guest Jonathan Friend, artistic administrator for The Metropolitan Opera.

This event is free, but registration is required. A Zoom link will be provided after registration.
