Singing gives voice to the voiceless, illuminating truths where the spoken word can fall short. Radiance will shine a light on how people's stories are seen, heard, and refracted and how we can all fight for justice and understanding. The Young Professionals Choral Collective (YPCC) will perform the world premiere of PRISM, a commissioned choral orchestral work composed by Cincinnati native William Menefield, paired with Morten Lauridsen's beloved Lux Aeterna. PRISM further highlights the themes of Cincinntai Opera’s 2019 world premiere of Blind Injustice, a collaboration with YPCC and the Ohio Innocence Project (OIP) that draws from the true stories of six exonerees who were freed by the OIP.
YPCC will be accompanied by players of Collegium Cincinnati, with Dr. Eva Floyd from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and YPCC’s Artistic Director, KellyAnn Nelson, on the podium.
