2010 LGBT Night at Otello

For our 90th Anniversary Season, Cincinnati Opera is pulling out the stops for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community with an evening of extraordinary entertainment on Saturday, July 10, at Music Hall. Join us for our fourth annual LGBT Night in conjunction with our thrilling production of Verdi’s Otello.

Verdi’s memorable 1887 opera is based on Shakespeare’s famous play, Othello. According to Evans Mirageas, Cincinnati Opera’s Harry T. Wilks Artistic Director, “This story of an outsider who is driven by jealousy and prejudice to violence has many resonances in the gay community, and I thought this would be an opportunity not to be missed.” Evans and his partner Thom will be among the evening’s hosts.

The evening includes:
5:30 p.m. pre-performance reception for hosts & hostesses in Music Hall's Critic's Club
6:30 p.m. pre-performance Insights lecture by Artistic Director Evans Mirageas
7:30 p.m. Otello performance
